Candidates interested in running for Secretary must declare their intent to run and their qualifications for the position.

Declaration and discussion for potential candidates will be open from June 6th to June 13th (7 days for declarations) and June 16th (10 days for discussion).

All discussion must be fundamentally courteous and orderly. Any member who fails or refuses to engage in discussion or debate in an orderly and courteous manner may be ejected from the electronic meeting by order of the President or by a vote of the Board of Directors.

Eligibility:
A candidate for Secretary must have knowledge and/or experience with the USRC’s structure, bylaws, policies, programs, rules and parliamentary procedure. A candidate must have excellent organizational and record keeping skills. A candidate must have proficient computer skills.

A candidate must be a full member of the USRC, must be over twenty-one (21) years of age, must never have been removed from any previously held position in the USRC before the end of their term, and must not be under current disciplinary action. All candidates must possess integrity and must fully prescribe to the USRC’s purpose and objectives. A candidate must have reliable access to email. A candidate must have experience in conformation shows, schutzhund trials, and training Rottweilers.

I would like to officially declare my intent to run for Secretary of the United States Rottweiler Club.

A little about me, I joined the USRC about 20 years ago as a member of Old Dominion Rottweiler Club in Nokesville, VA. I was the secretary and treasurer of ODRK for a number of years. I have been the secretary and helped host multiple USRC Club, Regional and National Events, from Trials, Seminars and Shows as well as been the secretary of multiple other dog sport events and traveled to help them with National Events. I have been the secretary/admin and or treasurer of multiple dog clubs and am currently Treasure of Southern Maryland Working Dog Club in Brandywine, Maryland. I am the owner of KRPetz – Working K9s, which was established in 1992, as a pet sitting business in the DC area. Over the years it branched off to rescue and training and I have rescued and trained many working dogs and placed with departments, giving them a working home. Currently I work as a Navy Civilian at NSA Bethesda as an Administrative Assistant and have a small elite clientele (training and pet sitting) in Maryland. I have trained and titled my own dogs in IGP, Mondio, PSA, and APPDA, I have also trained them in detection, protection and service work (not on the same dogs).

Hello everyone,

The time allowed to declare your intent to run for secretary has officially closed as of friday, June 13, 2025. We have had one person declare their intent, thank you Kimberly for declaring your interest.

This thread will remain open for discussion only until Monday, June 16, 2025.

Voting we'll begin on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 and will remain open for five days ending on Saturday, June 21, 2025.

A separate thread will be posted specifically for voting by poll on June 17th.
