I will throw my hat in again unless a candidate decalres that I am comfortable continuing to lead the club in a positive direction.

I am announcing my intent to run for President of USRC for the 2025-2027 term.
It is my position that USRC is a bred club necessary in the United States for the protection and preservation of the complete Rottweiler in the United States. The division and decline of Rottweilwer clubs over the
past decade has had a negative impact on the breed, whereas a cohesive and united front can better serve the breed and lead it in a more positive direction. It is my intent to build a more cohesive front in order to serve the breed and members in a more positive way.

Balance needs to be brought back to the breed through public education on what expectations to have for a Rottweiler, both in structure and temperament, assistance when purchasing a puppy, expectations of the parent dogs used for breeding, training tips and assistance, etc. I am readily available for help in all of the above areas and strive to steer those asking in the right direction with sound advice.

I am an advocate for breed testing and feel so strongly about this that I was on the committee writing the Breed Standard Evaluation for the American Rottweiler Club, the parent club for the breed for AKC. USRC needs leadership that can help it make the next leaps in preserving and or recovering the breed as the dog it became so respected for. If it prospers, thus will the Rottweiler in North America. I have vision, am active in the breed both through IGP and Show (AKC and Sieger), and understand the need for structure married to correct Rottweiler temperament.

I currently own and have owned Rottweilers over the last 30 years. I have owned and titled dogs to IPO 3, with USRC NW Regional Sieger, RKNA CH, AKC pointed Wu-Tang’s Axel, CGC,FDC, RatN, RN, TDI, CDX, BH, SE, BST, ZTP, 5x's IPO 3 twice placing at national level Rottweiler events and mid-pack at DVG all breed National and his littermate USRC Open Select (2x's) multi V-1 Rated Wu-Tang's Nadia CGC, FDC, RatN, BN, RN, BST, IPO V. I also trained and showed multi V rated including V-1. Alaska von den Eichen Berg BN, CGC, CD, RN,
RATN, ZTP, IGP 1. Also new to training are Bacchus von den Eichen Berg RatO and his littermate Barnabas von den Eichen Berg RatO,BH and their dam V-1 Ottake de Froid Vent Saint Hilaire RATN Br. Ring, BH,PR1, BSE, ZTP.

I have created and participated in voting in a Youth Handler Program and a Championship program. I have been the imputus in enacting change in our show rules to make the program more modern, more accessible, and more competitive, such as allowing other sports to be considered for entry into the working class and ultimately compete for Sieger/in. I continue to work tirelessly to support and encourage members, to discuss and participate in voting changes to programs and policy that improve the support of the breed and its members. I continue to represent the USRC at IFR meetings, ensuring that we continue to have a strong connection and voice.

By day, I am an elementary school teacher and have been for 25 years. I well understand the need for structure to preserve forward progress and harmony. I also am well versed in communicating with others and resolving issues. Within this profession I have also worn many
other hats:
• Lead Teacher
• Science Lead for a very large school district
• School Site Council member
• Site Leadership Team
• BITSA Coordinator
• coach for multiple sports, boys and girls, coaching them to league championships

As an artist I have vision and the ability to think outside of the box. I create realistic sculptures
requiring great imagination and the need for precision with an eye for detail. It also requires great dedication with the fortitude to follow a project through.
I am versatile, dependable, honest, and a hard worker with vision. I feel I can serve USRC well as President of this historic club for two more years.
Kind regards,

Michelle Platt

Who has been doing the club's yearly income taxes? Has it been seen by the membership? Why has there been no detailed Financial Statement done and posted for the membership in the last dozen years (maybe there was a very abbreviated one done in the last couple years but I didn't see it). Aren't these both supposed to be done (and provided to the membership) every year?

I am sure the Treasurer is preparing a statement for the meeting, if it is not already prepared. You are correct, it should be uploaded to the forum, which it has not been in years (2013).

Hi Everyone,

I would like to officially declare my intent to run for President of the United States Rottweiler Club.

A little about me, I got my first Rottweiler in 1986, I became a member of USRC in 1992, and I've been active in conformation (Sieger shows, AKC, UKC) IGP (schutzhund) French Ring, and many other activities with my dogs over the years.
I have shown my own dogs in Sieger shows, AKC, and UKC conformation. I have also trained entitled my own dogs in IGP, AKC obedience, and I have also achieved breed tests, BST’s (Ztp’s) with several of my dogs as well.
I have been the USRC Northeast Regional Director over the last several years, where I've helped the clubs in my region host local, Regional and National events.

I have been a member of the Rottweiler Club of Connecticut for many years now and have helped with the organization, planning, and running of our yearly shows. I have also been an active member of the New England Rottweiler fanciers and independent area Rottweiler club and I have experience as president of this club, and also in organizing their yearly shows and events as well.
I’m a dog trainer by profession, and have run my own dog training business, Progressive Canine Dog Training and Behavioral Services, for 37 years. I not only have experience running my own business, but I've also worked in management in the pet supply industry, as well as having been a veterinary technician for many years as well..
I am an evaluator for the AKC CGC program, a judge for the AKC Temperament Test program, and the AKC Fetch program, as well as being a judge for the United States Temperament Testing Association.

I have a true love and passion for our breed, and I would very much like to see the USRC attract new members and new clubs and become more active club with more events and opportunities for all of our members, and the Rottweiler community as a whole.
For me, one of the most important things I feel our club needs to address is, communication. Unfortunately, our club has not had a regular newsletter in many years, and I feel that at this time the general membership receives very little to no communication from the board. If you choose me as your President, this would be the first thing I address. The membership is the heart and soul of any club, and we need to hear from the membership their ideas, their suggestions and other input to help guide this club forward. We need to have regular communication so that the members of this club feel connected to the club and more vested in the club's future.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post and I thank you for your consideration.
